George Washington-American Leader
- George Washington, known as the first president of the United States, was also a very important leader in the Revolutionary War. He was the Commander in Chief of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War, and served in many, many battles during this war. Because of his great strategies, we won many battles and captured two British armies at Saratoga in 1777. He also opposed the Stamp Act of 1765, along with many other famous men of history. He was appointed a General and Commander in Chief after the first battle of the War, the Battle of Lexington and Concord.
- George Washington had many jobs during the Revolutionary War. He had to lead his army against the British's main army twice (both in 1775-1777 and in 1781), and never would surrender, only lose overall. He also had to organize and train the army, with the help of a Prussian veteran named Baron von Steuben, this was accomplished. In addition, Washington had to convince Congress to give him all the essential supplies they needed during that training. He also devised many strategies for the battles. Washington is very famous, and a very important part of American history, especially during the American Revolutionary War.
