Kind George III- British Leader
King George is usually recognized as the King of England, and a tyrant to the colonies. He was the king from the 25th of October, 1760, to his death. He told all of his troops that the colonies shall not be emancipated, or freed from his ruling. This, obviously, didn't work in the long run when the British lost the American Revolutionary War.
This King set up many unfair acts in the colonies, and believed strongly in the idea of mercantilism, or the idea that the colonies existed for the good of the mother country, in this case, Great Britain. Some of these acts included the Royal Proclamation of 1763, which diverted the colonies from expanding north. He also set up the Stamp Act, one of many taxing acts that charged all written documents. A third act was the Quartering Act, which allowed British soldiers to stay in the colonist's houses, and the Navigation Acts, which stated that goods going to and from the colonies had to pass through England first, to ensure no smuggling. He was a tyrant in the colonists eyes, and one of the biggest barriers blocking us from freedom at the time.
